Kiwi raider Werther ($2.30) has dominated 2015 Queensland Derby betting markets at Ladbrokes.com.au all week, remaining clear favourite ahead of Upham ($8) and Sadler’s Lake ($9).

Will Werther justify his resounding favouritism and win the 2015 Queensland Derby, or will one of his many talented rivals find the line in the clear?

1st

Werther ($2.30)

Werther has stamped his claims as one to watch over two standout performances in Australia already, will receive a dream run from barrier 1 and will be very hard to beat in the 2015 Queensland Derby. Booking a ticket across the Tasman when finishing second in the Group 3 Manawatu Classic (2000m) and taking out the Group 2 Championship Stakes (2100m), the son of Lord Tavistock ran a close second to Delicacy in the Group1 SA Derby (2500m) first-up before returning to the winner’s circle amongst open company in the Group 2 Eagle Farm Cup (2200m) last weekend.

2nd

High Midnight ($21)

High Midnight has found exceptional form leading into the 2015 Queensland Derby and undoubtedly offers punters the best value for money in betting markets at current $21 for success or $5 to finish in the first three. Trained by Bart and James Cummings, High Midnight ran a credible fourth in the Group 3 Frank Packer Plate (2000m) on April 18th and will be seeking a third-consecutive win in the 2015 Queensland Derby after taking out each of the Power Access BM75 (1900m) and Ardrossan Batlow Apples BM73 (2000m) most recently.

3rd

Upham ($8)

Upham also represents great value in 2015 Queensland Derby betting markets at current odds and has arguably been the standout three-year-old of the Brisbane Winter Carnival so-far. Posting three wins and a further four minor places through eight career starts so far, the son of Mastercraftsman returned for a credible third in a Warwick Farm minor over 1400m on March 25th and has found exceptional form since arriving in Queensland; running second in each of the Group 3 Gunsynd Classic (1800m), Group 3 Rough Habit Plate (2000m) and winning the Group 3 Grand Prix Stakes (2020m).
